The Town of Kernersville welcomes the opportunity to do business with interested merchants and vendors. Kernersville’s goal is to make doing business with the town as easy and convenient as possible. We strive to promote a climate for good business relationships and place a high value on friendly, personal contacts with our current and potential vendors. Minority and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) are encouraged to participate in the purchasing process.
To ensure that the best value in goods and services are obtained through open vendor competition, the Town of Kernersville’s purchasing processes are governed by North Carolina General Statutes and locally established fiscal policies and procedures. In addition, the Town participates in programs that allow the opportunity to purchase under North Carolina contracts and in cooperative agreements with other governmental units.
Bidding
The Town does not provide, or maintain, an official vendor list. A decentralized purchasing system is used whereby individual departments are responsible for purchasing most materials and supplies for their departments. Bids opportunities will be advertised electronically and/or in the local newspaper(s). Potential bidders are responsible for checking our website and the local newspapers to obtain bid information. Acknowledgment of addendums will be made in the bidding process.
According to NC General Statutes, proposals are invited and will be received by the Town until the bid closing date and time. The list of bid opportunities serves as public notice advertisement for bids and Requests for Proposals. The Town of Kernersville reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. Bidders must comply with nondiscrimination provisions. The Town is an equal opportunity agency and invites small and minority businesses to bid.
