The Police Department Patrol Division consists of four teams; with each team supervised by a patrol lieutenant. Kernersville Police provide 24 hour a day traditional patrol functions. Officers are assigned zone patrol which enhances their knowlege of the business owners and residents that live within their zone. The officers in the Patrol Division are the first responders to most all calls for service. They investigate and report all types of crimes and other police-related calls for service. Patrol officers respond to violent crimes, property crimes, traffic accidents and other calls as required.
Canine Units - The department's only canine was assigned to the Vice/Narcotics Division until November of 2009 when four full-service canine units were added to each patrol team to enhance patrol operations. The K-9's were officially "sworn in" on December 8, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Dawn Morgan.
Email is not manned twenty-four hours a day. If you have an emergency, please dial 911.
