The Communications Center is a full-service Dispatch and E-911 Call Center. The Center is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and receives all Police Emergency and Non-Emergency Calls for Service. The Center is equipped with state-of- the-art radio equipment. The Town of Kernersville was the first municipality in Forsyth County to install an 800 MHz Trunked Radio System. Any citizen needing assistance is encouraged to contact the Police Department.
Communications Impaired Services through the use of TDD
Our agency is equipped to process calls placed by TDD users who are communications impaired.
Language Line
When a caller contacts the call center that does not speak English, an interpreter can be easily reached through the use of Language Line. Telecommunicators can access this service directly while remaining in contact with the caller.
Need a Residential Security Check?
Going out of Town? The Police Department will keep a check on your residence during your absence. Please contact the Call Center at (336) 996-3177. There are several pieces of information needed when you call. Please have this information prepared when you call to request your security check. The information needed is on the “Security Check Request Form”
Emergency Contact List For Businesses
All businesses located in the Town should contact the Call Center and provide your emergency contact information. This will aid the Police in locating the proper personnel during an alarm call or other emergency situation. "Emergency Contact Form"
What is an emergency?
A situation where the safety of people or property is at risk. Examples of 9-1-1 emergencies include: a fire; crime in progress; or a medical crisis.
What is NOT an emergency?
It is not an emergency when the situation is not dangerous and immediate action is not necessary. If the emergency is not life threatening, please call our non-emergency contact number at (336) 996-3177.
