Police Educational Services


 The Town of Kernersville offers many programs to our citizens.  For further information and/or questions regarding any of these programs, please contact our Administrative Offices at 336-996-2390.

Child Safety Seat Installation Checks - Perfomed by Certified Technicians.

Crime Prevention Seminars -  Many programs are available for your next civic meeting or community watch program.  Schedule your next event with our Administrative Offices. 

Facility Tours - Schedule a tour for your organization.  Visitors are always welcome!

Fingerprints -  Residents may get inked fingerprints made Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00A.M. and 4:30P.M.  Costs are $10/card.  You must have valid North Carolina photo identification. 

Parents may have their dependent children fingerprinted free of charge.  Fingerprints cards are returned to parents for safekeeping.

Hiring an Off-Duty Police Officer - Police Officers may be hired to work special events. Secondary Employment Application.

Police Day Camp -  Implemented in 1996, the annual "Spend a Week with an Officer" joins police and children 8 - 12 years of age with a fun-filled week of activities.  Free to all residents.

T.A.G.  - Town Against Graffiti Program is an anti-graffiti program created to aid with enforcement of graffiti laws by providing educational and prevention information to the community. The purpose is to explain what graffiti is, how graffiti is linked to quality of life as well as gangs, and ways graffiti can be prevented. 

National Night Out - A crime prevention event developed to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood unity. It heightens crime and drug prevention awareness, generates support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs, strengthens neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and sends a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Ted E. Bear Program - Since 1988, all patrol vehicles have been specially "equipped" with a teddy bear that is given to children in traumatic situations.  Teddy Bears have been proven effective in reassuring children.  Program is fully funded through private donations.
