The
Town of Kernersville Public Works Department
and Kernersville Parks and Recreation have worked diligently
to bring this new park to you. The Town's Public Works
Department began the process of rebuilding the dam and creating
a lake at this location in June 2006. When their work
was completed, the project was turned over to Kernersville
Parks and Recreation to put the finishing touches on this
beautiful neighborhood
park.
This
park has a T-shaped fishing pier, four picnic sites with grills,
an ADA accessible path, a canoe/kayak launch, steps and a
walk for pier access, a spray fountain in the lake, two fish
feeders, and fifteen street-side parking spaces. The
lake itself covers almost six acres. Century Lake Park
is a great place to relax and caters to walkers and bicyclists
from nearby businesses
and residential areas. The lake is stocked and will
be available for fishing by spring 2009.
