§
14-361.1. Abandonment of animals says...
Any
person being the owner or possessor, or having charge or
custody of an animal, who willfully and without justifiable
excuse abandons the animal is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor.
(1979, c. 687; 1985 (Reg. Sess., 1986), c. 967, s. 2; 1989,
c. 670, s. 3; 1993, c. 539, s. 241; 1994, Ex. Sess., c.
24, s. 14(c).)
If
you can not care for your pet, DO NOT leave them unattended
in the dog park. We do not have the resources or facilities
to care for pets.
We
are still raising money for additional amenities and maintenance
to the existing park. You can buy a brick paver that
will be placed in the entryway of the dog park for only
$75. We ordered the first batch in March of 2009 and
they are currently backordered. We were hoping to
have them in before Dog Day Afternoon on May 16th but it
is looking more like June.
