This
project consists of a complete
rehabilitation of the water and sewer lines, pavement, and
roadway base along North Main Street from Mountain Street
to Railroad Street. The structural integrity of the
roadway is in poor condition due to failing utilities underneath
the road. The water and sewer lines are located underneath
the pavement and businesses are located close to the roadway;
therefore, North Main Street is scheduled to be closed for
several months from Mountain Street to Railroad Street. Pedestrian
access will be kept open where feasible and businesses are
encouraged to utilize rear and side accesses where possible.
Construction is slated to begin on June 17th, 2008 with an
estimated construction schedule of 100 days.
