Did you know?

In January 2005, the Town of Kernersville collected over 17 tons of obsolete electronics from Town residents.  These were items that would have been destined for disposal in the landfill.  All the items collected were recycled.

point What items does the Kernersville recycling program accept?

We currently accept newspapers, junk mail, chipboard, green glass, brown glass, clear glass, aluminum cans, steel cans and plastic bottles.  Starting April 7, 2005, the Town plans to add cardboard to the items allowed for collection.

point Where do I place my bins on collection day?

Place the bins on the curb in front of your house.

point What if my bins are lost or stolen?

If you have a lost or damaged bin please call 996-6417 for a replacement.

point If I am moving, can I take my bins with me?

The bins belong to the Town of Kernersville and you are free to use them as long as you reside within the Town limits.  If you move, please leave your bins for the next occupant of the house.

point Does the Town provide wheeled carts for recycling?

In 2005, the Town plans to offer a wheeled cart as an option for recycling bins.  There will be a nominal fee for the use of the carts.
